Sam's first Christmas

As you can see Christmas did not impress you the first time round.

Sam you weren't impressed with your first Christmas day and continued to sleep despite the best efforts of your father to wake you by rustling wrapping paper in your ear.
It was a lovely day, we had 10 people for dinner, Gran & Grampy, Auntie Rebecca, Gran, Grancha, Uncles Paul & Richard and Auntie Deborah.
You made the day very special for your dad and me, you brought the sparkle back into Christams that so easily disappears as you get older. Everyone was in awe of you and you were passed from one to the other, but we could see you looking for us just making sure we were there, that is the greatest feeling in the world, Merry Christmas love Mam & Dad xx

Sam's travels

This is you Sam at Winter Wonderland

It was dark and raining and we were very cold as we stood and watched your Uncle Paul, Amy, Kyle, Uncle Richard and Auntie Deb attempt to skate around a man made ice rink in Cardiff. It was a sight for sore eyes as they tried to impress us but failed misarably with the skating skills. You on the other hand were as snug as a bug in a rug wrapped up in your funky new pram, I think the only reason your dad went was to show off your pram. Ha ha.

Sam the screamer

Mam had her hands full at bath time Sam

To start your bath time was no joy,
but what do you expect from a boy?
You tried to put me off dunking you in,
needless to say I knew I'd win!
Now you love splashing, laughing & singing,
can't wait for the chance to take you swimming.

Samuel's first day

To my little man with a bald head and no teeth!
Your birthday was 9 days later than it should have been and I'm hoping this is not going to be a habit of yours as you get older, although as you'll soon discover I'm always late for everything!
With a little huffing & puffing you were born at 12.24 on the 24th November 2006. Let me tell you a little about that day.....I don't remember a great deal, or at least my memories are hazy due to the fact I was high on gas & air, which was fab by the way. The one thing apart from you that will never leave me and still stirs me to tears is the support and encouragement your dad gave me that day. This is someone who didn't know whether he would be able to come into the room, let alone help. He talked to me, made me laugh and told me I looked beautiful when clearly I looked hideous and was sweating so much I could have cured a drought problem. Ha! He stood and looked after us both for 7hrs and when at last your little head was coming I could hear the excitement in his voice. He was an absolute rock that day, I will never forget that and I wanted you to know that as well.
With several frantic pushes you arrived then cried at your shock entry into this world. You were PERFECT.....and you were OURS. I couldn't help but look at you, so beautiful, as I traced the contours of your face with my eyes and your little hand held the tip of my finger all I could think was how blessed we were, and of course how utterly exhausted & starving I was.
So there you were, a new member to the Evans household, so I best introduce everybody.....I'm mam, I'm 28yrs old and work as a nurse in A&E. My favorite colour is blue and I like to sing and play piano, but I'm not good at either as I'm sure you'll find out. Then there's Dad he's 34yrs old and runs his own business. His favorite colour is yellow and he likes to play on big boy games and drive his fast car, which at the moment is a Golf GTI, the best thing is the colour which I picked - Racing Red.
You also have 2 cats Fudge & Smudge, they are sisters approx 7yrs old, Fudge is tortoise shell in colour and Smudge is black and white. Both are pleased to see you and are appreciating all the extra soft places to sleep.
I'm sure everybody will introduce themselves soon enough; so bye for now from your admirer, comforter, protector and biggest fan.....Mam xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
